Biography of Richard L. Grabowski
Richard Grabowski is the conservative Republican Nominee who ran for U.S. Congress in Illinois’ 3rd District in 2012.
The son of a Chicago metal worker and a forklift operator / union secretary, Richard grew up in the lower-to-middle-income neighborhoods on the south side of Chicago, spending his youth in the Back of the Yards, Brighton Park, McKinley Park, and Marquette Park neighborhoods.
Since high school graduation, Rich has worked his life as the sole bread winner for himself, his wife Linda and their four children.
For more than 25 years, Richard advanced his way from blue-collar warehouse floors to management of union and non-union workforces at several multi-million dollar private-sector manufacturing, distribution and transportation companies in the Chicagoland area.
At the young age of ten, Richard developed a work ethic as a newspaper carrier, and immediately after high school at age 18, Richard began his working career. Richard’s current position is Materials Supervisor at Deltrol Fluid Products in Bellwood, and he has also been a shipping and warehouse supervisor for 20 plus years in his professional career at various industrial corporations in Chicagoland, such as Fresh Express in Franklin Park, FedEx Express at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, Tru Vue in McCook, and Briskin Manufacturing in Chicago. Richard is a professionally certified forklift trainer, and has also received professional certification and training in various labor management and manufacturing processes that are standard to the industry, including Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management, Quality Systems Management ISO 9001, and Quality Systems Requirement for the automotive industry, QS 9000.
Richard’s strong commitment, dedication, and respect for employees at all levels have earned him corporate awards for warehouse performance and inventory integrity at Gould’s Pumps in Bedford Park and Chemetron Fire Systems in University Park. He also has earned high 99% records in inventory accuracy and transactional integrity as a manager at Chemetron Fire Systems, Briskin Manufacturing, and Tru Vue. He saved the bottom line $20,000 in annual inventory cost savings through recycling obsolete packaging into useable packaging materials at Tru Vue, a Chicago glass manufacturer.
Richard also gives back to his community as a Deacon and Council Member at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Burbank, and as a coach/mentor of ten years of youth baseball and tee-ball. A citizen and neighbor concerned about the future for Illinoisans, Richard has also run for office in the past for School Board and the Illinois House of Representatives. Richard is a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Chicago. He has also attended De La Salle Institute in Chicago and Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills. Richard currently lives in Hometown, Illinois with his wife Linda and their four sons Timothy, James, Daniel, and Samuel.
